Not in a bad way. Just… a lot.

My former SVP invited a group of us for a last-minute get-together where he grilled food for us (spoiler alert: I didn’t have a chance to try it before I needed to head to the airport to catch my flight. My coworker did, though, and let me know it was delicious). He retired earlier this year. Some of my coworkers like to say he’s actually just busy managing his investments. Here we are.

I’m 26. I work in big tech. I got married in March — my other half found out about a month before it happened, which, honestly, tracks for how I typically operate day-to-day.

We bought a condo together three days after we signed our marriage license. On paper, things look really good.

And yet.

I can’t fully explain the specific exhaustion of staring at a net worth spreadsheet that should make you feel okay, and just… not feeling okay. The numbers don’t lie. And instead I just lie awake at 2am talking to AI and trying to figure out what the heck is going on with my life.
